Sustainability is a priority at Auto Rent. This month, we completed the installation of an innovative water recycling system at our Faro facilities, in partnership with Ecodepur. This system allows us to reuse 80% of the water used in car washes, equivalent to 1200 m³ per year—a significant amount given the size of our fleet.
The process involves several stages: sludge separation, hydrocarbon separation, oxygenation in a biological reactor, and triple filtration. This €80,000 investment complements other environmental initiatives, such as replacing lighting with LEDs and installing photovoltaic panels.
Although this system is currently only in Faro, we remain committed to sustainable practices across all our operations.
