COVID-19 - Important Information

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Emergency State in Portugal and the Ministers' Council Resolution from 20/03/2020, we inform our customers that our activity is suspended and our offices are closed to public indefinitely for rental car activity.

If you have a rental car to return, or you pretend to extend the rental until after the quarantine period, you can still contact us through:

If you need to return your car, please contact us in order to arrange the date, time and location for such return.

Auto Rent wishes all customers the best and recommends to stay safe and follow the WHO recommendation in order to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.

Auto Rent now provides a service that allows you to drive on the A-22 without worries!

The A-22 Motorway has automatic tolls that charge when you drive under the gates spread between the exits.

Introducing the E-Tolls extra

  • You pay €1.85/day for the rental of the device
  • You're free to drive around on the A-22 and avoid traffic on the N-125
  • When you return the car, you only pay for the tolls you used
  • No pre-pay, no extra costs, no tolls in your mail

Should you choose not to use our E-Tolls service, any tolls that are not paid will be sent to your home address, and you will be charged an administration fee by the highway company.

Please note that due to the tolling company stating that it can present tolls up to 15 days later, some charges may come after your departure, but we will contact you should that happen.

To rent a car from Auto Rent you must be over 25 years old.

From 21 years old you can still rent a car with Auto Rent, but have to pay the Young Driver's Insurance extra.

An Auto Rent basic price includes:

  • 3rd Party Insurance Waiver
  • VAT
  • Unless otherwise stated, unlimited mileage.
  • Vehicle replacement in less than 24 hours in case of a breakdown

Any other extras will be charged, unless otherwise stated.

We transferred the users from the previous website to the new one, so you can log in with the same email and password as you did before.

If your account, for some reason, is not registered, you can contact us or click the Register Now! link below the login panel and fill in your information.

Either way, if you book a car with Auto Rent and you insert an email address that is not in our database, a new account will automatically be created for you.

Auto Rent still provides car hire services in the Algarve, just like it did before. However, now you can get accurate quotes and instant booking confirmation based on our availability!

Soon, you will be able to hire a car anywhere else in the world through our website!

The Home Owners Club is a specific club for long time customers of Auto Rent. It gives 10% discount in the rental price.

But, of course, if you were already a member, you know that! If that's the case, don't worry. Soon you should be getting the new Home Owners Club Card in your mail.

If you don't get it within 10 days, please contact us with your home address and your address in Portugal, and we will make sure you get your club card!
